Entire island built on plastic bottles (27 Photos) Posted: 16 Sep 2010 12:28 PM PDT British eco-pioneer Rishi Sowa built his first Spiral Island in 1998 using around 250,000 plastic bottles to build a 66x54ft (20x16m) island which was located in a lagoon near Puerto Aventuras, on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. Sadly, it was destroyed in a hurricane. So in 2007 Rishi started over, this time using millions of plastic bottles to construct his eco-masterpiece, Spiral Island II.
